I am using this book to plan for an upcoming solo rowing adventure, up the Inside Passage. The author provides detailed information about how to prepare and execute a successful paddling adventure. He includes the pro's and con's of what to bring (including specific brands and specifically where the items can be found), how to safely paddle through specific bodies of water, how to safely overnight at various locations, and points of interest. I am using this text as my primary planning and provisioning guide. Work and family commitments keep me from realizing my dream of paddling the inside passage. I am soon approaching 60 and I would like to make the trip before 70 (I am healthy and swim 12 miles + every week.) But even if life does not allow me to complete this trip I can at least live it to a small degree from someone else's. It was well written and if you want to be inspired about one of the few areas in this continent where one can still experience wilderness this is it.
