This book, copyright 2017 offers very little practical information. It reads more like this families personal story than a true guide. More like 40 somethings with two kids move to the beach. They are living there on 90 day tourist visas and give no information on getting legal residency. There are some stories about their problems sending money to themselves but no hard info about bank accounts or receiving regular funds. Some of the information about the high costs of utilities and car ownership. Food and household goods prices same as usa. Very little about costs of housing other than wide ranges of prices in their specific area. No real answer about long term health care offered in the country, just a little about expat insurance. Very few references to other sources beyond Facebook. Skip this book and spend an hour on the internet and you will be ahead of the game. Not at all helpful for the serious reader. I read a sample, and decided if I got just a few good ideas I hadn't gleaned from all the other (much cheaper) books on relocating to Costa Rica....it would be worth it. NOT SO! The ideas were nothing new...AND it's just a come-on to get people to pay an OUTRAGEOUS price for a "course" to get you prepared for the move. I fell over laughing when I saw the "ad" at the end of the book. Undoubtedly the worst value I've ever received on a Kindle book.
